Reading the comparison

Pricing

Worktivity starts at $3.99 per user per month, against $4.99 per user per month for Hubstaff. The Hubstaff figure is its annual-billing rate, the lowest price it publishes, while ours is the monthly list price. Paid annually Worktivity drops to $3.32, so the real gap is wider than the numbers above. Both are billed per seat, so it grows with headcount.

Which one fits your team

Worktivity is the better fit if:

  • Your team sits at desks. Worktivity has no field or GPS module, so nobody is paying for job-site machinery an office team never opens.
  • Screenshot capture is not rationed by tier. Every Worktivity plan records without a per-plan screenshot allowance, so the entry plan and the top plan see the same thing.
  • A day can be reviewed as a timelapse video instead of paged through as a grid of stills, which is usually the difference between screenshot review happening and being skipped.

Hubstaff is the better fit if:

  • You have people in vans, on sites or moving between them. Hubstaff does GPS, geofences and mobile job tracking; Worktivity is built for desk work and does none of it.
  • You want work items and time in the same product. Hubstaff carries its own project and task management, so hours land against tasks created in the same tool.
  • Your integration list matters more than the analysis. Hubstaff connects to a longer set of payroll providers and business tools than a smaller vendor can match.

Switching from Hubstaff

Leaving Hubstaff is a reporting handover rather than a data migration: Worktivity starts its own record the day the agent is installed, so the work is pulling your Hubstaff history out as an archive. The decision that takes longer is the field side, because GPS and job-site tracking do not come with you.

How the move usually goes

  1. 1

Export Hubstaff timesheets and activity reports to CSV while the account is still active, and keep them as the archive for that period.

  2. 2

Install the Worktivity agent for one team and run it alongside Hubstaff for two or three weeks, so the same days can be read in both tools.

  3. 3

Settle the field question before you cancel. If any crew depends on GPS or geofencing, leave those seats where they are and move only the desk-based team.

Questions people ask

The three that come up most often when a team is weighing this move.

Can I import my Hubstaff data into Worktivity?

There is no Hubstaff importer. Worktivity begins its own record when the agent is installed, so the usual approach is to export Hubstaff reports as CSV and hold them as the archive for the earlier period. Teams that need continuity run both products for two or three weeks before cancelling.

Does Worktivity replace Hubstaff's GPS tracking?

No. Worktivity is built for desk-based teams and does not track location, geofences or job sites. If part of your workforce is in the field, that part belongs on a product designed for it.

What do we give up by leaving Hubstaff?

Project and task management, GPS, and the breadth of Hubstaff's integration list. What you get back is screenshot capture on every plan, timelapse video of a session, and a written AI analysis of how each person's week actually ran.
