A new website, and a platform-wide refresh

We're rebuilding Worktivity end to end. The first piece is live.

We have started a ground-up renewal of Worktivity's system architecture. It is the largest piece of work we have taken on so far and it touches every part of the product: the website, the web app and the desktop agents.

Live today: the new website

  • Rebuilt from scratch on a modern stack, so pages load faster and stay readable on every screen size
  • Available in English, Turkish and German
  • Light and dark themes across the whole site
  • A live demo you can open without creating an account

Coming next: the web app

The web app is being rewritten on the same foundation and is close to release. Expect a faster interface and clearer screens, with the data you already have exactly where it is. Nothing to migrate, nothing to set up again.

Right after: the desktop agents

Once the web app is out, updates for the Windows and macOS agents follow quickly. Your current agent keeps working in the meantime, so there is nothing you need to do today.

We will post each step here as it goes live.

Advanced Insights and a native macOS app

We're excited to introduce Advanced Insights, available as a beta feature for Pro plan users, along with major reporting enhancements and the launch of our native macOS app on the App Store.

Advanced Insights New

Beta, Pro plan. Advanced Insights brings new reporting capabilities that help you understand productivity patterns across your teams and individuals.

1. Productivity trends

Analyze how your team spends time across Productive, Neutral and Unproductive applications over a selected date range.

  • View data in daily, weekly or monthly periods
  • Compare current performance with previous periods to spot trends
  • Switch between team-level and individual-level insights
  • Track long-term productivity changes with clear visualizations

This report tells you whether productivity is improving, declining or staying consistent over time.

2. Comparison

Compare two custom date ranges side by side to evaluate performance changes. Key metrics include:

  • Changes in Productive, Neutral and Unproductive time ratios
  • Working Time comparison
  • Average Activity Level comparison

Additional capabilities:

  • Compare individual users or entire teams
  • Benchmark teams against each other using the same metrics
  • Focus on a specific date range for deeper analysis

Useful for measuring the impact of process changes, workload shifts or policy updates.

3. Activity heatmap

Understand when your team works most effectively.

  • View activity as an hourly or daily heatmap
  • Identify peak focus hours and low-activity periods
  • Plan tasks by aligning priorities with high-focus times

This report helps you forecast focus windows and schedule critical work during the most productive hours or days.

App Summary enhancements Improvement

Based on your feedback, we've improved App Summary reports:

  • Idle Time is now shown alongside Working Time
  • Idle data is available on App Summary screens and in Excel export reports

This gives a more complete and transparent view of application usage.

Recent updates and news

A new website, task management improvements and more.

We are continuously working to make Worktivity better every day, and we'd like to share the latest updates and improvements with you.

New website New

The Worktivity development team has finally shipped the new useworktivity.com, because we couldn't withstand the pressure from the Marketing team any longer. :)

The design, content and language of the new site have been completely refreshed to give you and our future customers a clearer picture of what Worktivity does.

Desktop version 2.1.7 New

URL tracking is much more stable with this release. We improved URL tracking on Windows for Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Opera, and added URL tracking support for the Vivaldi browser on Windows devices.

The release also brings minor interface enhancements and redirects to the web application for creating and editing tasks.

If your desktop agent does not update to 2.1.7 automatically, you can get the latest version from the download page.

On Break reminder Improvement

When the desktop application is in On Break mode, you'll get a prompt every 5 minutes whenever computer usage was measured within the last minute. It asks “Are you working?” and reminds you to resume work.

Important: your computer activity in On Break mode is not stored in the cloud and cannot be viewed by anyone else.

Task tracking New Improvement

While our focus stays on productivity management, task tracking is part of productivity, so this release brings significant improvements to that area.

  • Task changelog: see who changed what on each task.
  • Comments: leave comments on a task and mention people directly from the task view. Everyone you mention gets an email notification about your comment.
  • Blocked employees have been removed from the assignee list.

What's new in Worktivity?

Activity level, risk user settings and more.

We are continuously working to make Worktivity better every day, and we'd like to share the latest updates and improvements with you.

Risk user settings New

You can now build reports around your own conditions. For example, you can create a report for employees who took more than 5 breaks in the last 3 days, and follow it on the Overview screen.

To try it, sign in with an account that has Owner or Co-owner permissions and open Risk user settings under Organization settings.

Activity level New

Calculated minute by minute from keyboard and mouse usage, activity level lets you measure productivity more precisely.

A minute counts as active when there is keyboard or mouse movement in any of the second-level intervals within the preceding 60 seconds.

Worktivity does not store which key was pressed or where the mouse was clicked.

  • Requires Worktivity desktop agent v2.0.5 or newer.

Display count Improvement

Captured screenshots now show how many monitors are connected to the employee's computer. The capture itself is still taken from the actively used window only.

  • Requires Worktivity desktop agent v2.0.5 or newer.

Task tracking Improvement

Fields recently added to the web application, such as task details, are now available in the desktop agent as well.

  • Requires Worktivity desktop agent v2.0.5 or newer.

New features and extended permissions

Leave management, custom app and website rules, and new permissions.

We are continuously working to make Worktivity better every day, and we'd like to share the latest updates and improvements with you.

Leave management (beta) New

You can now define your employees' leave entitlements in the system, which lets employees create their leave requests here too.

That means leave requests for your whole organization are managed online. Weekends and other non-working days are not deducted from entitlements, based on the working days set in your organization settings. This one is new, so please share your feedback and ideas with us.

Custom app & website rules New

You can now set the Working or On Break status automatically, based on the software being used.

Your feedback made us aware that employees drop into an Idle state during long meetings when there is no keyboard and mouse activity. With this feature you can name the applications and websites that should be categorized automatically as Working or On Break. To try it, open Track settings under Organization settings.

Employee code New

You can now give employees an Employee code, available in the employee creation dialog. It makes it possible to tell apart employees with the same name in larger teams, or to match records with an external user system. Once a code is entered, it appears automatically when you hover over that employee's name.

To use it, go to the Employees page and add a new employee or update an existing one.

Permissions Improvement

The new permission restrictions let you design a more flexible permission system:

  • Disable Manual Time Entry for your employees. When it is off, only Owner and Co-owner accounts can use it.
  • Approve manual time entries automatically, so entries made by your employees don't wait for review. (Not recommended for freelance or project-based workers.)
  • Restrict Project Management actions such as creating, editing and deleting tasks, so that only Owner or Co-owner accounts can perform them.

New features and improvements

Task insights, Excel reports and many more.

We are continuously working to make Worktivity better every day, and we'd like to share the latest updates and improvements with you.

Task Insights New

With both the Project Management and Cost Management modules active, you can analyze task costs on a single screen. Click any task in this task-based report to see the time and cost each employee spent on it. Task Insights requires Owner, Co-owner or Manager permissions and is reached from the Insights section in the left menu.

Excel reports Improvement

The Excel reports you get from the system now come with automatic filtering and style improvements, so they are quicker to work with.

App Summary Improvement

We reordered the list of used applications so the most-used one sits at the top. At a glance you can see which software your company spends the most time on, and its share of the total.

Timesheet Improvement

In the day-by-day view that opens when you click an employee on the Timesheet screen, the most recent date is now on the right. Clicking one of those days opens the employee's profile with that day already filtered.

Task management Improvement

To make task statuses more useful, we added On hold, Postponed, Under review and In progress. Tasks also gained a detail section and a deadline field.

Manual time entries Improvement

Manual time entries can now be linked to a project and a task, so time you log later lands on the right task. The Reason field also gained shortcuts for quick entry.

Track settings Improvement

The screen received design improvements, and additional modules are now grouped under an “Additional features” heading at the bottom.
