How do I turn AI features on or off?
Every AI feature has its own switch in Organization settings, along with a monthly credit limit and this month's spend.
- Web
Everything the product does with AI has its own switch, and they are all in one place. Open Organization settings and choose the AI features tab, just to the left of API access.
Who can change these
Owners and co-owners. Managers and employees do not see the tab, and the endpoint behind it refuses their requests as well, so the settings cannot be reached from a saved link either.
The switches
- AI summaries. On by default. Turn it off and the summary strip is not drawn on any insights screen and nothing is sent for it.
- Summaries for co-owners. On by default. Turn it off and only the owner sees the strip.
- Write the weekly summary automatically. The weekly summary is free on every plan, so this is on by default. Turn it off and the strip waits with a button instead of writing by itself.
- Coach reports. Turn it off and no new report can be ordered, by hand or by a scheduled rule.
- Automatic app classification. Turn it off and new applications and websites are not sent for labelling; they wait for you in the review queue instead.
- Productivity suggestions. Turn it off and no suggestion is requested. A second switch decides whether a suggestion is applied on its own or waits for you to accept it.
- Monthly credit limit. A ceiling on what AI can spend in a calendar month. This month's spend is written right underneath it, so you are not setting a number blind.
Turning something off takes effect the same minute
There is no queue to drain and no nightly job to wait for. The next screen that would have drawn a strip does not draw it, and the next request that would have been sent is not sent.
One thing a switch cannot undo
Applications and websites are classified once for the whole platform rather than once per organization. Turning classification off stops your organization from queueing anything new, and that is all it can do: a record another organization already sent cannot be withdrawn. Your own tracked hours, screenshots and titles are not part of that catalogue.
What leaves, whatever you switch on
Employee names are replaced with placeholders such as E1 and E2 before any request is sent, and put back in the text you read. Screenshots, timelapse video, window titles, anything typed and any pay figures are never part of an AI request. The AI summary article goes through this in more detail.
