Which notifications do I get, and how do I turn them off?

The list is built from your role, and a switch exists only where the channel actually sends something today.

Notification preferences belong to one organization at a time. If you work in more than one, switch workspaces and set them again there.

Getting there

  1. Click your avatar at the top right of the screen.
  2. Choose Account settings, then the Notifications tab.

The tab is drawn only while you belong to an organization; preferences are attached to your record inside that organization, not to your account.

Why your list is not the same as a colleague's

The rows come from your role in the current organization:

  • Everyone sees the rows about their own work: a task assigned to them, their leave request approved or rejected, their time entry approved or rejected, and the weekly and monthly employee reports.
  • Managers also see the weekly and monthly team reports.
  • Owners and co-owners also see the rows about other people's activity, a deleted task, invoice status, new projects and customers, and the organization reports.

The two columns

Each row has an Email column and a Push column. A switch appears where that channel actually delivers something today. Six notifications are sent by email and by push:

  • Someone assigns you a new task.
  • A task has been deleted.
  • Someone creates a new time entry, and your time entry is approved or rejected.
  • Someone creates a leave request, and your leave request is approved or rejected.

The remaining rows are listed but nothing is sent for them yet, so their switch stays off. The report rows have no push column at all and read Not applicable.

Turning one off

  1. Find the row and switch the Email or Push column off.
  2. Press Save changes at the bottom of the card.

The rows are grouped into Activity and Reports, so a whole block can be dealt with at once. The save button stays disabled until something actually changes.

Turning a notification off changes what reaches you, not what Worktivity records. The approvals and requests still happen, you just are not told about them.

Time entry approvals themselves are covered in approving manual time entries. Your own profile and password are in account settings.
