Reading the comparison

Pricing

Worktivity starts at $3.99 per user per month, against $6.49 per user per month for Monitask. The Monitask figure is its annual-billing rate, the lowest price it publishes, while ours is the monthly list price. Paid annually Worktivity drops to $3.32, so the real gap is wider than the numbers above. Both are billed per seat, so it grows with headcount.

Which one fits your team

Worktivity is the better fit if:

  • Monitask captures; it does not interpret. Worktivity's Productivity Coach writes an analysis on demand for a person and a period, and AI credits come with every plan rather than as a second subscription.
  • A shift can be watched as a timelapse video, so reviewing a day takes a few minutes instead of an afternoon of clicking through stills.
  • The record continues past the screenshot: utilisation split into working, break and idle time, then working time split into productive, neutral and unproductive, per person and per project.

Monitask is the better fit if:

  • You want the smallest tool that does the job. Monitask covers hours and screenshots with very little to configure, and for a small team that is sometimes exactly right.
  • Administration should take minutes. There are fewer settings, fewer reports and fewer decisions to make than in a broader platform.
  • Your requirement is proof of work and nothing beyond it. If nobody on your team will ever open an analytics screen, the extra capability is weight you are carrying for no reason.

Switching from Monitask

This is one of the shorter moves, because there is not much held in Monitask to begin with. Export the screenshots and timesheets you are required to keep, install the agent, and cut over inside a single week.

How the move usually goes

  1. 1

Download the screenshots and time reports you are obliged to retain, since they stop being retrievable once the account closes.

  2. 2

Install the Worktivity agent across the whole team in one pass; a team this size does not need a staged pilot.

  3. 3

Set the screenshot policy on day one, blurred, plain or off, and tell the team what changed before they discover it themselves.

Questions people ask

The three that come up most often when a team is weighing this move.

Do I lose my Monitask screenshots when I move?

You keep whatever you download before the account closes. Nothing transfers between the two products, so export the screenshots and reports you need to retain first. There is no back-fill afterwards: your Worktivity history begins on installation day.

Are screenshots limited on the cheaper Worktivity plan?

No. Screenshot capture is unlimited on every plan. What differs higher up the range is retention: how many months of screenshots and activity data stay available to look back through.

What does the AI actually do?

It writes a per-person analysis for a period you select, covering working rhythm, punctuality and burnout risk, and it runs when you ask for it rather than continuously. Every plan includes AI credits, enough for roughly four full thirty-day analyses a month, and extra credits are a one-time purchase rather than another subscription.
