How do I get the most out of my trial?

Invite two teammates and get the desktop app installed in your first day, and the Get your team started card on Overview tracks both steps.

Your first 24 hours go best when you do two things: invite at least two teammates and get the desktop app installed. During your trial, the Overview screen shows a card called "Get your team started" that tracks exactly these two steps, so the trial fills with real data instead of staying empty.

What does the "Get your team started" card do?

The card appears on Overview during a trial, and only for the Owner and Co-owner roles. It lists two steps, marks each one you have finished and shows how many days are left in your trial. When both steps are done, the card disappears.

Step 1: How do I invite my team?

  1. Open Employees in the sidebar.
  2. Select Invite employee. The "Invite at least two teammates" step on the card opens this same form.
  3. Enter the person's details, choose their team and role, and send the invitation.

Each person gets an email with a link. If someone does not see it, use Resend invitation on their row. The card counts invited people ("1 of 2 invited") and marks the step done at two.

Step 2: How do I get the desktop app installed?

  1. Select "Get the desktop app installed" on the card, or open the download page.
  2. The person you invited installs the app on Windows, macOS or Linux and signs in with the Worktivity account the invitation created.
  3. The step is marked done once at least one invited person has installed the app.

Nothing is recorded until a person clocks in, and each person can see their own hours and activity under My activities.

What does the first activity look like?

After someone installs the app and clocks in, their hours, breaks and application use start appearing in Worktivity, usually within a few minutes. A single person's first day is a short timeline, so the dashboards look fuller once two or more people are recording.

What does "Hide for now" do?

"Hide for now" removes the card for 24 hours. It does not complete the steps and does not change your trial. The card comes back afterwards, until both steps are done.

What if I am not ready to invite two people?

The card is a suggestion, not a requirement. The trial and every feature work without it. With fewer than two people, though, you see less of how Worktivity works for a team.
