How do I change the card we pay with?

Update it from Payment method in your account. The card is saved after the first successful payment, and it can be swapped but not removed while a subscription is running.

The card on file is the one we charge when your subscription renews. You will find it in your account on the Subscription screen, in the Payment method section.

Billing is only shown to the organization owner and co-owners. On any other role the section is not on the screen at all.

Changing it

Press Update card. A secure Paddle form opens on top of the page, you enter the new card, and it replaces the old one. Card details go to Paddle, who handle our payments; they are never stored by Worktivity.

The page keeps checking for the new card on its own for about a minute after the form closes, and confirms the change once it lands. If nothing has appeared by then, reload the page rather than entering the card a second time.

If it says no card is saved

Your card is saved the first time a payment actually goes through, not when you first pick a plan. On a trial, or in the gap between checkout and the first charge, the section is empty and that is normal.

If the card has expired

The section says so, with the expiry month and year. A card counts as expired at the end of the month it names, not at the start of it. The next renewal will fail unless you update it.

A failed renewal does not delete anything. Your data, people and history stay where they are; tracking stops when the paid period runs out, and starts again as soon as a payment goes through.

Removing the card

You cannot remove a card while a subscription is running, because it is what keeps the plan paid. You can swap it for a different one at any time.

If you want to stop paying altogether, cancel the subscription. Access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for.

If the card form will not load

The form comes from Paddle, so a content blocker or an ad blocker is the usual reason it does not appear. Reload the page with the blocker off, or try another browser. Your saved card is unchanged either way and the subscription keeps renewing normally.

If there is no Update card button

Some subscriptions have no card for us to update: a plan redeemed with a lifetime code, one created with our previous payment provider, or an account we opened by hand. In those cases the button is not shown at all, because there is nothing for it to change.

If the subscription is paid by something other than a card, PayPal for example, the section tells you the details cannot be shown or changed here.
