What does the Work times report show?

Work, break and idle minutes for the whole organization over a range, team by team, with activity level and late clock-ins.

  • Web

Work times answers one question: how the selected range was spent across the organization. Timesheet adds one person's hours up day by day; this screen takes the same minutes and splits them into work, break and idle, team by team.

Open it

  1. Sign in at app.useworktivity.com.
  2. Go to Insights, then Work times.
  3. The range starts on today. Widen it to the week or the month you are looking at.
  4. Narrow by team, employee, project or task if you need to.

The filters live in the address bar, so "last month, design team" is a link you can send to somebody.

What the summary adds up

Total tracked time is work, break and idle added together. Those three always fill the total, so their shares read as a whole.

  • Working: minutes recorded while someone was clocked in and using the computer.
  • On break: minutes recorded while a break was running.
  • Idle: minutes with no keyboard or mouse input. Why minutes are marked idle explains the threshold.
  • Activity level: the share of working minutes that carried input. What was typed or clicked is never stored, only the ratio.

Reading a row

One row per employee, added up across the whole range. There is no day column here; open Timesheet when you need the day by day breakdown.

  • The late clock-in column carries two numbers: how many minutes late in total, and on how many days. Only the first clock-in of each day counts. The expected time comes from your organization's work day settings.
  • Everybody in the organization gets a row, even with nothing tracked in the range. People who were invited but never signed up are left out.
  • Blocked employees are hidden until the checkbox above the table brings them back. The time they worked stays recorded.
  • Teams can be collapsed. Which ones are closed is kept in the address bar, so a shared link opens the same way.

Taking the numbers out

Export as xlsx builds the same range as a spreadsheet. Data export is a plan capability; on a plan without it the button says so rather than failing.
