What are trends, heatmap and comparison for?

Advanced insights holds three sections that read productivity over time, side by side, and across the hours of the day.

The other insights screens add a range up. Advanced insights asks how that range moved: whether productivity is rising, how two sides differ, and when in the day the work actually happens.

Before it appears

This section is a plan capability. Where it is not included, the screen shows Advanced insights is not in your plan with a link to the plans, and no data is requested. The rest of the insights screens are unaffected. Changing your plan covers the upgrade.

Open it

  1. Sign in at app.useworktivity.com.
  2. Go to Insights, then Advanced insights.
  3. Pick a section from the strip under the title. Each section has its own address, so a link opens on the section you were reading.
  4. Set the range and, if you need to, the team or the employee.

Productivity trends

  • Group the range by day, week or month.
  • Average productivity is the mean of the productive share across the points in the range.
  • The change beside it compares the second half of the range against the first half. It is not a comparison with a previous period.
  • Direction reads increasing, decreasing or stable from the same halves.

Comparison

Two sides, the same metrics: productive, neutral and unproductive shares, tracked time and average activity level, with the difference and which side is ahead.

  • Two periods: pick both date ranges.
  • Two employees or two teams: both sides use the same date range.
  • Nothing is requested until both sides are picked, and pointing both at the same person or team makes every difference zero.

Activity heatmap

By hour shows the days of the range against the hours of the day; by day drops the hour axis. The darker a cell, the larger the productive share of that slot, and pointing at a cell reads out its productivity, tracked time and activity.

The hours in the heatmap are in your organization's timezone, not the timezone of the computer you are reading from.

What this section does not have

There is no xlsx export here, and the filters are date range, team and employee only. A manager sees their own team; the server applies that, not the screen.
